GM/CS-093 - Creag Dhubh - 658m - NN322824 - 2 points
QSOs: 40m CW - 1, 40m SSB - 3, 2m FM - 1
This is my local hill and I have walked up it more times than I can remember! There are a number of possible approaches but my preferred is from the the little chapel Cille Choirille at NN307813. From the top of adjacent hillock (Tom a'Chrochaire) two burns can be seen on the flank of Creag Dhubh opposite. Head through the gate in the fence to the rightmost of these and follow it to it's source and then up the broad west ridge to the summit. Here there is a trig point and nearby a slightly higher cairn. This hills gives outstanding views all around and is one of the best vantage points in the area.
This was the site of my first CW QSO for 20 years! Thanks to David, M0AVH in Nottingham for bearing with me. I also worked M3BLT/P, G3AKX & M3TUC on 40m SSB and GM7PKT/P on 2m FM. Robin was on his local hill, Beinn na Gucaig, WS-263 at the time.
